Season of farewell

I feel remarkably humbled that Yukari Watanabe wanted some of her ashes placed in one of her favourite Canterbury Streams, and so today Yama did that and am not afraid to say I had tears in my eyes.

Yukari first started with me in about 2003 and came over from Japan most years until 2015, she is an Angler I had great respect for and we became friends.

Today was so spiritual after Yama put the ashes in the stream he caught a fantastic trout on Yukari’s Sage Z axis and released it right over the ashes, after this we just sat silent for 30 minutes… SPIRITUAL !!!! here are some images of Yama releasing Yukari back to the stream, the trout he caught soon after and Yukari back in the last mouse year with a huge smile.
