It is hard to believe that this year is 150 years since Brown trout were first introduced to New Zealand and how well they have done. The first live trout ova arrived at Lyttelton on 23rd September 1867 and there the story that I have a lot of passion for begins in a hatchery based on Avon River in Christchurch.
