An awesome day out fishing the remote headwaters of Canterbury

During mid-Late October we started to get into remote headwaters in the backcountry and welcomed back those exciting long works and adventure filled days , all anglers happy to be part of larger numbers of trout and some very large fish!

arne

Here on left Arne from Norway with a super 8 pounder taken at close range with his sharp angling skills and on the right John from Australia displays with pride a stunning 9 pounder it end what he called a most perfect day, John has fished with me most years since 1998 so that is testimony to a great season this is! These fish were all keenly feeding mostly on nymphs but some rising to mayfly hatches also , long leaders { 12-15ft } and accurate first casts are the order of the day for these larger fish.
